Classic Cars Revived After Decades of Abandonment in Romania

A 1979 Porsche 924 Turbo, purchased in 1979 for about £14,000 by a British owner, remained untouched in a barn for 30 years. When finally opened, the engine was found in pristine condition despite some paint flaking, and the car holds personal significance for the owner, who used it during family milestones.

A 1987 Trabant 601, left abandoned for five years in a courtyard in Argeș County, was restored in a single week into a functional mini‑platform with a siren and tow arm. The restored vehicle, named "Bucșa," now appears at local auto festivals, student events, and activities for children with autism, becoming a community attraction.
