Classical music and opera highlights in Austria and Germany

Various classical music and opera events are taking place in Austria and Germany. In Vienna, the Musikverein hosted pianist Igor Levit for the first half of a marathon project performing Beethoven’s 32 piano sonatas across eight concerts. Additionally, the Wiener Staatsoper is introducing a new children's program titled ‘Geheimmission Zauberflöte’ and features baritone Étienne Dupuis in Verdi’s operas.

In Linz, the Landestheater is staging a contemporary production of Richard Wagner’s ‘Lohengrin’ under the musical direction of Christoph Koncz. Meanwhile, in Hildesheim, Germany, the Theater für Niedersachsen presented a production of Rossini’s ‘Guillaume Tell’ (Wilhelm Tell).
