Classical music festivals and concert tours announced in Romania

Romania is hosting several major classical music events this season. In Constanța, the Corul Madrigal and Cantus Mundi will hold the ‘Madrigal la Răsărit’ festival at ZooM Beach. The program includes a sunrise performance on August 15, followed by the Cantus Mundi Fest featuring nearly 1,000 children from various choirs. The series will conclude on August 16 with the production ‘Madrigal: Ave Maria’ featuring actor Marius Manole.

Additionally, tenor Ștefan von Korch is launching a concert series performing Carl Orff’s ‘Carmina Burana’. The tour begins on September 18 in Baia Mare at the ATP Tech Center, with performances by the Dinu Lipatti Philharmonic Orchestra and the Târgu Mureș State Philharmonic Choir. The tour will continue through early 2025, with scheduled stops in Cluj-Napoca, Pitești, Bucharest, Constanța, and Oradea.
