Classical music performances announced in Aysén and Concepción

The Universidad de Aysén Chamber Orchestra (OCUA) will premiere the ‘Latin American Concerto for Guitar, String Orchestra, and Percussion’ by regional composer Juan Mouras. The premiere is part of the orchestra’s seventh concert of the 2026 season and will be held on September 24 at the Coyhaique Cultural Center and September 25 at the Liceo Bicentenario Rural de Villa Cerro Castillo, with free admission.

The program also includes Arcángelo Corelli’s ‘Concerto Grosso Opus 6 N° 2 in F major’ and Benjamin Britten’s ‘Simple Symphony’. This season marks the addition of two new permanent musicians to the orchestra.

In Concepción, the Universidad de Concepción Symphony Orchestra will present ‘Symphonic Program 9: A Journey to the Beginnings’ on September 25 and 26. The program features works by Johann Sebastian Bach and Antonio Vivaldi.

The event features international performers, including Chilean violinist and conductor Ana Liz Ojeda and Italian baritone Furio Zanasi. Ojeda, who began her career participating in a talent competition at the University of Concepción in 1990, returns to the stage as an established international artist to lead the orchestra.
