Classical music performances featuring Bach scheduled in Italy

Various classical music events featuring the works of Johann Sebastian Bach are scheduled to take place in Italy.

In Pistoia, the Fondazione Teatri di Pistoia will inaugurate its concert season on October 30 at the Cattedrale ex Breda. The performance will feature Bach’s ‘Mass in B Minor’ performed by the Orchestra Leonore, I Solisti di Pavia, and the Coro Filarmonico ‘R. Maghini’ of Turin, under the direction of Daniele Giorgi. The venue, a former railway manufacturing complex, will host this large-scale symphonic-choral production.

In Modena, musician Evangelina Mascardi will perform Bach’s lute suites at the Chiesa del Voto. The program includes the Suite in G minor BWV 995 and the Prelude, Fugue, and Allegro BWV 998, alongside works by Silvius Leopold Weiss. Mascardi will perform on a period thirteen-course lute, focusing on Baroque performance practices.
