Classical music performances held in Ciudad Rodrigo and Ceuta

Classical music performances took place in Spain, featuring opera, zarzuela, and symphonic works. In Ciudad Rodrigo, the Teatro Nuevo Fernando Arrabal launched its second season of performing arts with a lyric recital by soprano Montserrat Martí Caballé. Accompanied by baritone Luis Santana and pianist Víctor Carbajo, the program included works by Verdi, Donizetti, Rossini, and Mozart. The event coincided with the VI International Organ Cycle at the local Cathedral.

In Ceuta, the Orquesta Sinfónica del Estrecho, conducted by Jaime Cobo Valera, performed at the Teatro Auditorio del Revellín. The program featured works by Beethoven, Chopin, and Mendelssohn. A highlight of the concert was the performance of Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 2 by Ceuta-born pianist Juan José Sevilla Valencia.
