Classical music performances in Metz and Luxembourg

In Metz, Florent Albrecht and the ensemble L’Encyclopédie performed a concert at the Arsenal focusing on the historical musical encounter between Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Muzio Clementi. The program, titled ‘Mozart & Clementi ou l’opéra concertant’, featured Mozart’s piano concerto alongside a work by Clementi composed in London during the late 1780s. The performance utilized historical instruments as part of the ensemble's ongoing recording efforts.

Separately, Martin Rajna has inaugurated his tenure as conductor of the Orchestre philharmonique du Luxembourg. The 31-year-old conductor, who also holds a position at the Budapest Opera, programmed György Kurtág’s ‘Stele’ as the opening work of his mandate. The concert also featured Bartók’s first Violin Concerto performed by soloist Veronika Eberle.
