Classical music series announced in Caserta and Turin

Several classical music events are scheduled across Italy, featuring prominent baroque and classical repertoire.

At the Reggia di Caserta, the Archi Ensemble dell’Orchestra da Camera di Caserta will perform a series of baroque concerts in the Cappella Palatina as part of the European Heritage Days. The first performance on September 26 features works by Albinoni, Torelli, Vivaldi, Purcell, and Stölzel, accompanied by trumpeter Cristiano Brusini. A second concert on October 10 will include a chamber reading of Johann Sebastian Bach’s keyboard concertos, featuring accordionist Luigi Gordano.

In Turin, MITO SettembreMusica is launching a biennial cycle dedicated to the complete performance of Ludwig van Beethoven’s string quartets. Performed by the Teatro alla Scala String Quartet, the project will span several years, aiming to conclude in 2027 to mark the bicentenary of the composer’s death. This initial phase includes the performance of quartets numbers 1, 2, 3, 6, 8, 10, 12, and 13.
