Anthropic's Claude Code adds iOS simulator support for macOS developers
Anthropic has launched a public‑beta update to its Claude Code desktop application for macOS that integrates Apple’s iOS Simulator. The new feature lets developers ask Claude to build, run and test iOS apps directly from a panel beside the chat window, with the AI observing the simulator, interacting with the UI and iterating on code without requiring macOS accessibility or screen‑recording permissions. Screenshots captured in the simulator are sent to Anthropic and stored according to normal conversation‑retention settings, so users are advised not to log into real Apple IDs in the simulated environment. The integration requires Claude Code Desktop version v1.24012.0 or later, Xcode with the iOS platform installed, and works only in local sessions (cloud or SSH sessions are unsupported). It is available to Pro, Max and Team plan subscribers, with up to four simulators runnable simultaneously. The rollout has been reported by multiple outlets in several languages, highlighting the same technical details and privacy cautions.
