Claude Code, Muse Code, and Antigravity handle AI plugins differently

Terminal-based coding agents Claude Code, Muse Code, and Antigravity CLI utilize different approaches to managing plugin systems, focusing on varying aspects of utility, cost, and security.

Claude Code provides measurement tools to evaluate plugin effectiveness. It includes a subcommand to compare performance with and without a plugin and offers a feature to project the token cost of a plugin before installation. In contrast, Muse Code focuses on security by allowing users to approve or reject specific runtime capability definitions to constrain what a plugin can do.

Within the Claude ecosystem, distinct layers exist to manage workflows: MCP connectors provide authorized access to external data or services, skills provide specific procedural instructions or scripts, and plugins serve as a distribution method to package both access and procedures for team use.
