Claude Code optimizes aging Android TV performance

AI engineer Mert Cobanov successfully used Claude Code to optimize a four-year-old Android TV that had become significantly slow. Instead of purchasing new hardware or using external streaming devices, Cobanov utilized the AI agent to perform system maintenance via ADB (Android Debug Bridge).

Through Developer Options, the AI agent directly interacted with the device to disable unnecessary applications and services, install FLauncher as a new interface, and reduce transition effect durations. Notably, the process did not require root access, and applications were merely disabled rather than deleted, allowing for easy reversal of changes. Cobanov reported that the device's performance became smoother than when it was originally purchased.
