Claude Tremblay Jr enters Mégantic provincial election race

Claude Tremblay Jr, a welder from Les Sources, has announced his candidacy for the provincial election in the Mégantic riding on October 5. Running under the banner of the Parti Démocratie directe, Tremblay Jr aims to represent citizens who feel disconnected from traditional politics.

The Parti Démocratie directe, founded by Jean-Charles Cléroux in 2022, advocates for returning power to the people and argues that governments should not have a ‘blank check’ for four-year terms. As of October 2026, the party includes 45 aspiring deputies.
