Claudia Cardinale honored with film tributes and commemorative stamp

One year after the passing of acclaimed Italo-Tunisian actress Claudia Cardinale, tributes are being held to honor her cinematic legacy.

In Tunisia, film screenings will take place on September 26 and 27 in Tunis and her birthplace, La Goulette. The events include a screening of Luchino Visconti’s ‘The Leopard’ at the Italian Cultural Institute in Tunis, attended by the actress’s granddaughter, Francesca Cristaldi. A second tribute will feature an outdoor screening of ‘The Island of Forgiveness’ in La Goulette.

In Italy, the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy has issued a commemorative stamp to celebrate the international film icon. Cardinale, who appeared in approximately 150 films across various genres including comedy, westerns, and historical dramas, remains a symbol of the golden age of Italian cinema.
