Claudia Piñeiro's novel Catedrales to be adapted by Prime Video

Prime Video has announced the release of the series adaptation of “Catedrales,” a novel by Claudia Piñeiro. The six-episode production is scheduled to premiere on September 16.

The fictional series centers on an unsolved crime from 1986 involving the murder of Ana Sardá, the youngest daughter of a family marked by religious and internal conflicts. The narrative shifts to 2018, when Lía returns to Santiago, Chile, to accompany her father during his final days. Her return prompts a re-examination of the old case, uncovering long-held family secrets and the influence of religion on the original investigation.

The cast features Alfredo Castro as Adolfo and Paulina García as Dolores, alongside Octavia Bernasconi, Ignacia Baeza, Vivianne Dietz, Amparo Noguera, and Paula Luschinger.

Separately, Piñeiro has been involved in the theatrical adaptation of Manuel Puig’s “Maldición eterna a quien lea estas páginas,” a work exploring themes of exile and dialogue, which premiered on August 23.
