Brazilian actress Claudia Raia revealed in a recent interview that she was detained by police in Argentina when she was 15 years old. The incident occurred during the early 1980s, a period marked by a military dictatorship and the Falklands War.

Raia explained that she was at a restaurant with a group of 19 gay men when police entered the establishment. Due to her appearance and makeup, she was targeted alongside the group. While she was released the same day, she noted that her companions remained in custody. Raia stated that she remains on record with Argentine authorities when visiting the country.
