Sinaloa receives federal security and social support package
During a visit to Culiacán, Sinaloa, President Claudia Sheinbaum announced a comprehensive federal strategy to address security and social needs in the state. Sheinbaum confirmed that federal forces, including the Army, Navy, and National Guard, will remain deployed in Sinaloa for as long as necessary to support interim Governor Graciela Domínguez Nava.
To address the root causes of violence, the federal government plans to construct 20 new high schools and 10 community centers through the ‘México Imparable’ program. Additionally, 5,000 young people will be incorporated into the ‘Jóvenes Unen al Barrio’ program. To support the local economy and residents, the CFE will extend electricity subsidies for one month, and the Ministry of Finance will provide an extraordinary budget for the state.
Sheinbaum also emphasized Mexico’s sovereignty, explicitly rejecting foreign interference, stating that such intervention ‘generates violence’ rather than solving problems. To ensure follow-up, members of the federal cabinet, including representatives from the Ministries of Agriculture, Education, and Energy, will conduct weekly visits to Sinaloa to address specific regional needs.
