Claudia Sheinbaum denies nationwide medical protests over medicine shortages

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo has denied reports of widespread national protests by medical personnel regarding medicine shortages. While acknowledging that the supply of medicines and medical supplies has not yet reached 100 percent, she stated that significant progress has been made in both supply distribution and the hiring of doctors.

Sheinbaum noted that specific local issues are being addressed, such as protests in Veracruz concerning IMSS-Bienestar conditions, which are being managed by director Alejandro Svarch. Additionally, she addressed the deaths of five infants at IMSS Durango, stating that IMSS director Zoé Robledo Aburto is investigating the case to provide support to the affected families.
