Claudia Sheinbaum misses press conference due to flu

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo missed her scheduled morning press conference due to a severe case of the flu, characterized by cough and fever. Sheinbaum communicated via social media that her condition is not serious and that doctors have recommended rest.

Despite her illness, Sheinbaum has continued working remotely, including holding a virtual meeting with health authorities and governors to review progress on the Universal Health Service (SUS).

Interior Secretary Rosa Icela Rodríguez led the press conference in the President's absence, clarifying that the illness is a common flu and explicitly ruling out a COVID-19 diagnosis. Sheinbaum expressed hope to resume her regular activities the following day.
