Claudia Sheinbaum pledges to end impunity amid calls for justice

However, the Academia de Derecho Penal del Colegio Nacional de Abogados Foro de México has raised concerns regarding the case of the Moreno Becerril family. The Academy is questioning why criminal action has not been taken against Eduardo León Sandoval, a former District Judge alleged to be the intellectual author behind the crimes committed against the family. The Academy suggests this case may highlight corruption and impunity within the federal judiciary.
