Mexico City Cablebús Line 4 reaches 20% progress
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo has inspected the construction of Cablebús Line 4, which connects the Tlalpan and Coyoacán boroughs in Mexico City. The project currently shows a 20 percent progress rate and is scheduled for completion in December 2027.
The new line will span 11.4 kilometers and feature nine stations, including Universidad, Cantera, and Perisur. It is designed to reduce travel times by half, with an estimated 40-minute journey. The system will include approximately 400 cabins equipped with solar energy and Wi-Fi, with an initial capacity to serve 65,000 passengers daily.
Mexico City Mayor Clara Brugada Molina noted that the federal government has allocated over 4.7 billion pesos for the project. Sheinbaum emphasized that the infrastructure is a social justice initiative aimed at providing safe and efficient transport for underserved populations, particularly students and residents in the Tlalpan and Coyoacán areas.
