Claudia Tello and Rocío Nahle signal political unity in Veracruz

Speculation regarding a political rift between Senator Claudia Tello Espinosa and Veracruz Governor Rocío Nahle García has been addressed by recent public appearances. Despite rumors suggesting that Tello’s departure from the Veracruz Secretary of Education (SEV) and her subsequent appointment as Secretary of the Senate's Board of Directors were results of a fallout with Nahle, the two leaders appeared together during a recent event in Veracruz.

Reports had suggested that Tello may have used criticisms of Nahle to bolster her political standing. However, observers noted that Tello and Nahle appeared close and smiling during a message from President Claudia Sheinbaum at the Beto Ávila stadium. Tello social media posts indicated they remain on good terms, stating, “We are very happy.”

The political tension follows Tello's tenure at the SEV and previous investigations into the management of educational funds and foundations, including the Universidad Popular Autónoma de Veracruz (UPAV).
