Claudia Vilte Honored for Cultural Contributions in Salta

The Salta City Council presented a commemorative plaque and a copy of Resolution No. 276 to Argentine folk singer Claudia Vilte, recognizing her three‑decade career preserving the region’s musical heritage. Councilor Víctor Lamberto highlighted her role in promoting Salta and Jujuy’s traditional copla, citing her discography that includes Agüita Clara and Norte Origen.

In Los Angeles, the Expo Compositores Foundation named a composition studio after Mexican singer‑songwriter Vivir Quintana, honoring her impact on contemporary Latin music. Quintana performed live at the inauguration of the new “Home of the Composer” center, where the foundation praised her contributions to a new generation of songwriters.

Both events celebrate the artistic legacies of leading female folk musicians from Argentina and Mexico, underscoring ongoing efforts to preserve and promote regional cultural expressions.
