Claudio Cerasa presents new book in New York
Claudio Cerasa, director of the Italian newspaper Il Foglio, presented his new book, ‘L’antidoto. Libertà, ambiente, tecnologia. Manifesto ottimista contro la dittatura del catastrofismo’, at the Italian Cultural Institute in New York.
Cerasa advocates for what he calls an ‘optimism of data,’ using statistics from Italy and Europe to challenge the prevailing perception of inevitable decline. He argues that while pessimists seek scapegoats, optimists focus on finding solutions to complex global issues.
During the discussion, which included the Italian Permanent Representative to the UN, Giorgio Marrapodi, Cerasa also addressed artificial intelligence. He described AI as a tool similar to electricity that can be used for both good and bad, warning that the primary risk is failing to experiment and falling behind technologically.
