Claudio Concepción, veteran art chronicler, dies in Santiago
Veteran journalist and art chronicler Claudio Concepción has passed away in Santiago, Dominican Republic. A founding member of the Santiago branch of the Association of Art Chroniclers (Acroarte), Concepción dedicated nearly five decades to documenting the Dominican cultural and entertainment landscape.
Concepción died at the Metropolitan Hospital of Santiago (HOMS) due to pneumonia, following health complications related to diabetes and cardiac issues. He had recently returned to the country after receiving medical treatment in the United States.
Throughout his career, which spanned approximately 46 to 50 years, he was a prominent figure in print, radio, and television. He was well known for producing and hosting the variety program ‘A Todo Color’ on Teleuniverso for over two decades. His contributions to the field were recognized in 2020 when Acroarte honored him with the Journalism Merit Award for his lifelong commitment to art and entertainment journalism.
