Claudio Lotito testimony details alleged plot to force Lazio sale

Claudio Lotito, president of SS Lazio and Italian Senator, has provided testimony to prosecutors regarding an investigation into alleged market manipulation and pressure to force the sale of the football club. According to transcripts released by Repubblica, Lotito claims there is a coordinated effort by individuals with economic interests to compel him to sell the club at a low price.

The investigation, led by prosecutor Lorenzo Del Giudice, involves allegations of spreading false information about the club's sale to manipulate its stock value. Named in the proceedings are Luigi Bisignani, Mauro Masi, and Francesco Maiolini. Lotito has maintained that the club is ‘unscalable’ and stated he has no intention of selling, even to wealthy foreign investors.

In his statements, Lotito also addressed issues regarding club culture and fan behavior, alleging that certain illegal activities, including drug dealing and unregulated commerce, have occurred within fan-related venues. He emphasized his efforts to ‘cleanse’ the club of antisemitic sentiments and improve its institutional standing.
