Claudio Lotito takes ownership of Reggina, club set for Serie D season
Claudio Lotito, president of Lazio, has completed the acquisition of the entire share package of AS Reggina 1914 SSD. The new ownership announced that it has finalized all administrative procedures required for the club’s registration in the upcoming Serie D championship. In the official statement the owners said, “La nuova proprietà comunica di aver perfezionato l’acquisizione dell’intero pacchetto di quote… e di aver contestualmente completato tutti gli adempimenti necessari per l’iscrizione del club al prossimo campionato di Serie D.” Lotito added, “Lavoriamo per costruire il futuro del club.” The announcement thanked Mayor Francesco Cannizzaro and local institutions for their support and indicated that the new management will travel to Reggio Calabria in the coming days to present the technical and organisational structure and begin operational work aimed at restoring the club’s ambitions.
The move marks a significant shift in the governance of the historic Calabrian club, with expectations that Lotito’s experience and resources will help stabilize finances and lay the groundwork for future sporting success.
