Claudio Poggi announces renovation of security training institute

Governor Claudio Poggi has announced a significant investment to renovate the Instituto Superior de Seguridad Pública (ISSP). The executive branch signed a decree to allocate 824 million pesos for the comprehensive renovation of the female barracks and a complete renewal of the electrical and external lighting systems at the Juana Koslay site.

During his visit to the institute, Poggi criticized the previous administration for the state of neglect in which the facility was found in February 2024. He suggested that the dismantling of security forces and the poor condition of training facilities appeared planned, arguing that such neglect facilitated criminal activity.

The project, which includes the purchase of three new digital antennas for the police communication network, is expected to be completed within 240 days. Poggi emphasized that providing adequate facilities is essential for the dignity and effectiveness of both instructors and trainees in the police and penitentiary services.
