Claudiu Năsui to resign from Romanian Parliament after legislative reform

Claudiu Năsui, the newly appointed Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization in the Republic of Moldova, has announced his intention to resign from the Romanian Parliament following the adoption of a specific legislative initiative.

Năsui stated that he delayed his resignation from the Romanian legislature to support the passage of the ‘Savings and Investment Accounts’ bill. He described the measure as a significant liberal reform intended to encourage capital accumulation and strengthen capital markets, noting that robust markets in Romania would provide advantages for Moldova and the broader region.

Năsui assumed his ministerial role in Moldova on August 28 after being appointed by Prime Minister Vasile Tofan and receiving citizenship from President Maia Sandu. While he has confirmed his plan to step down from his Romanian parliamentary duties after this final legislative act, a specific date for his resignation has not yet been provided by the government.
