Clayface horror film receives R rating and runtime update
The upcoming DC Studios film “Clayface” has received an R rating from the MPA for “strong bloody violence, gore, language, some nudity and brief drug use.” Directed by James Watkins, the film is being positioned as a body-horror entry rather than a traditional superhero movie.
Recent updates indicate a runtime of approximately 105 minutes, slightly shorter than previous reports. The $40 million production follows the story of Matt Hagen, played by Tom Rhys Harries, a Hollywood actor who undergoes an experimental treatment to fix a facial disfigurement, only to suffer disturbing physical mutations.
The film features a screenplay by Mike Flanagan and Hossein Amini and is scheduled for a theatrical and IMAX release on October 23, 2026.
