CLDF honors women combating domestic violence and feminicide

The Legislative Chamber of the Federal District (CLDF) is holding a solemn session titled ‘Por Elas: Mulheres que Inspiram e Transformam’ to honor women working on the front lines of combating domestic violence and feminicide.

Proposed by Deputy Eduardo Pedrosa, the event aims to recognize activists and professionals dedicated to preventing crime and supporting women in vulnerable situations. Among the honorees is Jéssica Cytrus, leader of the ‘Brutas – Movimento Feminino Contra o Feminicídio’ project, a survivor of attempted feminicide.

The session follows significant statistics from 2025 in the Federal District, which recorded 28 feminicides, 133 attempted feminicides, and over 11,000 cases of domestic violence.
