Clear Street launches pre-IPO platform featuring Databricks

Clear Street, a cloud‑native financial‑infrastructure firm, announced the launch of Clear Street Private Markets, a single‑platform service that gives qualified and accredited investors access to private‑company shares before they go public. The first offering is pre‑IPO exposure to Databricks, the AI and data‑software company valued at about $188 billion.

The platform combines research, execution, liquidity and margin‑loan financing within the Clear Street ecosystem. CEO and co‑founder Uri Cohen said the goal is to remove friction and provide capital‑efficiency through the firm’s credit‑financing desk. A dedicated private‑company research unit, led by analyst Owen Lau, will supply research on the pipeline of potential issuers. Clear Street aims to onboard about 30 late‑stage tech startups valued between $5 billion and $20 billion, each roughly six months to two years from an IPO, by the end of the year.
