ClearVue Technologies begins solar window trials in Macau

ClearVue Technologies has initiated the first real-world deployment of its next-generation photovoltaic glazing technology at a hotel in Macau. Developed in partnership with LandVac, a subsidiary of LandGlass, the project aims to validate the performance of “Project Delta” under actual operating conditions.

Project Delta consists of single-glazed insulating photovoltaic windows designed to provide thermal performance comparable to a 1.5-metre brick wall while maintaining a thickness similar to a mobile phone. The trial includes a direct comparison test where the new technology will be installed alongside existing glazing to measure electricity generation, thermal performance, and cooling energy consumption side-by-side.

In addition to the windows, the trial involves installing building-integrated PV façade cladding panels to assess durability and weathering in Macau’s subtropical climate. ClearVue CEO Doug Hunt stated that the technology offers a compelling solution for the global building retrofit market by improving thermal performance and generating renewable electricity.
