Clearwater residents report unusual bear activity

Clearwater bear sightings wildlife encounters conservation officers attractant management

Residents in Clearwater have reported unusual bear activity throughout late summer and early fall. These encounters include a bear entering a backyard freezer on Lodge Drive, damaging the seals and lid lining, and another bear tearing into a shed.

David Karn, a media officer with the Ministry of Environment and Parks, confirmed that conservation officers have deployed traps in the area to capture the offending animal. Authorities are actively communicating with the public to provide guidance on safety and the management of attractants to prevent further incidents.
