Clearwater Tim Hortons receives provincial award for inclusive hiring

The Clearwater Tim Hortons has been honored with the 2026 Widening Our World (WOW) Award by Community Living BC (CLBC), a provincial Crown Corporation. Owners and operators Roger and Laura Toews were recognized for fostering an inclusive workplace that provides meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities.

According to CLBC, the Toews family has integrated inclusive hiring into their everyday business operations rather than treating it as a separate initiative. The award recognizes their efforts to allow employees to build skills, earn income, and contribute to the Clearwater community by focusing on individual abilities and providing equal opportunities.
