CLEC opens applications for Chinese language scholarships

The Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC) has opened pre-selections for the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship. This five-month study program is scheduled to begin in March 2027 in China.

Requirements vary by institution. For general CLEC programs, applicants typically need HSK 3 and an HSKK certificate. Specific programs at East China Normal University require higher proficiency, such as HSK 4 or HSK 5 depending on the field of study. The Confucius Institute at the University of Turin acts as a recommending institute, evaluating candidates based on minimum requirements and academic curriculum, including high grades in Chinese language studies for high school seniors.

In a related development of academic exchange, students from the IIS Perito-Levi in Eboli, Italy, continue to participate in Chinese training programs. One student recently completed a program at Shanghai International Studies University (SISU), an institution partnered with the University of Naples L'Orientale. These opportunities are supported by the Confucius Institute and CLEC to promote internationalization and language proficiency.
