Cleetus McFarland to race full-time for Richard Childress Racing in 2027

Garrett Mitchell, known professionally as Cleetus McFarland, has secured a full-time racing position in the ARCA Menards Series for the 2027 season. He will drive the No. 33 Chevrolet for Richard Childress Racing (RCR), working alongside crew chief Robert Strmiska.

This move marks RCR’s return to full-time competition in the ARCA Menards Series for the first time since 2010. McFarland, a prominent YouTube personality, previously competed in a part-time capacity across various NASCAR series and has already made several starts in ARCA, including a second-place finish at Talladega Superspeedway.

Mike Verlander, President of Richard Childress Racing, stated that McFarland’s passion and work ethic made him a perfect fit for the organization. McFarland described the opportunity as a “dream come true,” noting his goal to focus on mastering stock car racing through a full season schedule.
