Cleitinho Azevedo elected governor of Minas Gerais

Cleitinho Azevedo (Republicanos) has been elected governor of Minas Gerais, securing 55.40% of the vote with 6.3 million votes in the first round. His opponent, Patrus Ananias (PT), received 26.34%. The governor-elect is scheduled to assume office on January 1, 2027.

Before his political career, which includes serving as a senator and a city councilor in Divinópolis, Azevedo was a singer and songwriter known as ‘Cleitinho Elétrico’. His musical work, including the album ‘As Melhores do Cleitinho’, is available on streaming platforms. His transition to politics began in 2016 when he ran for city council in Divinópolis.

Following his election victory, Azevedo underwent a personalized aesthetic procedure in Divinópolis to manage his appearance after an intense 45-day campaign. The treatment, overseen by dentist Deise Alves, included collagen biostimulators and facial fillers designed to maintain natural expressions while minimizing recovery time for his public schedule.
