Clemente Nascimento criticizes Guns N’ Roses tour experience
Clemente Nascimento, vocalist and guitarist for the Brazilian band Plebe Rude, recently shared negative experiences regarding opening shows for Guns N’ Roses in Brazil. During an appearance on the Lado A Podcast, Nascimento described the American rock group as the most difficult band he has worked with.
Recalling the 2016 'Not In This Lifetime...' tour, which included stops in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Curitiba, and Brasília, Nascimento criticized the band's crew and the restrictive environment surrounding Axl Rose. He noted that the atmosphere was highly controlled, stating that people were instructed to turn away and avoid eye contact with Rose as he passed through corridors.
Nascimento contrasted this experience with other legendary acts. He noted that when the band Cachorro Grande opened for the Rolling Stones, Mick Jagger and his bandmates were approachable and visited the dressing rooms to introduce themselves. He also mentioned positive interactions with the Ramones and Bad Religion, emphasizing that the Guns N’ Roses experience lacked the professional camaraderie he had found with other major international artists.
