Clementon Park and Splash World to close after 119 years

Clementon Park and Splash World, a historic New Jersey amusement park operating for 119 years, has announced it will permanently close following the conclusion of its 2026 summer season. The 52-acre site in Camden County officially ended operations on September 7, 2026.

Chicago-based owner IB Parks & Entertainment stated that the decision to shutter the park was “difficult” and confirmed the property will be put up for sale. The company expressed hope in finding a new owner to preserve the legacy of the venue, which was originally founded in 1907 by Theodore B. Gibbs.

This marks the second major closure for the site in recent years; the park previously shuttered in 2019 following a loan default before being purchased at auction in 2021. The park featured various attractions, including the Hellcat and Dragon Coaster roller coasters and a giant Ferris wheel.
