Clemson coach Dabo Swinney praises safety Ronan Hanafin

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney has highly praised senior safety Ronan Hanafin, describing him as “one of the best football players we’ve got on this team.” During a recent press conference, Swinney emphasized Hanafin’s toughness, physicality, and strong football character, noting his tremendous growth and dedication to preparation.

Hanafin, a former wide receiver, has become a vital component of the Tigers' secondary, playing both rover and free safety positions. Despite the addition of transfers Corey Myrick and Jerome Carter III to the roster, Hanafin has remained a consistent contributor. His season statistics include 18 total tackles and a sack, following strong performances in games against LSU, Georgia Southern, and North Carolina.
