Clemson coach Dabo Swinney provides update on Hevin Brown-Shuler's cancer treatment

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney has provided a positive update regarding defensive tackle Hevin Brown-Shuler, who was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma in May. Swinney announced that Brown-Shuler has nearly completed his chemotherapy treatments and is expected to ring the bell next Thursday, a symbolic gesture marking the end of his treatment cycle.

Brown-Shuler, a highly-rated prospect who enrolled at Clemson in the summer of 2024, is expected to aim for a return to the football field for the 2027 season. During his recovery, he has remained involved with the team by participating in drills and studying the playbook.

ESPN’s College GameDay plans to feature a story during the Clemson–South Carolina rivalry game highlighting the cancer battles of Brown-Shuler and former South Carolina quarterback Stephen Garcia, who is currently battling stage 4 colorectal cancer.
