Clemson coach discusses Tait Reynolds' potential dual-sport involvement

Clemson baseball head coach Erik Bakich has discussed the potential for freshman quarterback Tait Reynolds to participate in baseball in the future. Reynolds, a highly touted recruit from Arizona, originally committed to play baseball at Arizona State before choosing Clemson for both football and baseball.

While Reynolds is currently competing for the starting quarterback position alongside Christopher Vizzina, Bakich noted that the athlete's future on the baseball diamond remains a possibility. Bakich stated, “Possibly, yeah,” when asked about a 2027 debut, but emphasized that the immediate priority is his football performance: “But right now, the plan is let’s kick some butt as a quarterback.”

Reynolds was ranked as a top-70 outfielder in his class and is considered a significant athletic asset for both programs. However, the scheduling demands of year-round football and baseball seasons present potential challenges for any dual-sport athlete at the collegiate level.
