Clemson football reports scrimmage successes and injury setback

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney reported positive developments following the Tigers’ first fall camp scrimmage, noting strong performances from the offense, particularly at quarterback, running back, and tight end. Swinney highlighted the capabilities of quarterbacks Christopher Vizzina and Tait Reynolds, describing them as physically capable players who can both run and throw effectively. The offensive line also received praise for its performance during the two-hour session.

However, the program faced a setback with true freshman safety Polo Anderson, who suffered a season-ending ACL tear during a punting drill. Swinney noted that Anderson was positioned to be a significant contributor this year. To bolster the secondary following this injury, the team will rely on transfers Corey Myrick and Jerome Carter III, alongside senior Ronan Hanafin, who has shown significant development and energy during camp.
