Clemson wide receiver Bryant Wesco Jr. returns after neck injury
Clemson Tigers wide receiver Bryant Wesco Jr. has returned to the field following a year-long recovery from a serious neck and spinal injury. The injury occurred during a Week 8 game against SMU in the 2025 season, when Wesco landed awkwardly while returning a punt, causing him to flip in the air.
Wesco had been having a standout sophomore campaign prior to the injury, recording 31 receptions for 537 yards and six touchdowns in his first six games. Following the incident, he underwent surgery in November. His rehabilitation process was extensive, starting with a month of no physical activity, followed by a gradual increase in weightlifting capability.
After six months of intensive rehabilitation, doctors cleared him to return to football. During his absence from the field, Wesco transitioned into a vocal leadership role within the team.
