Cleopatra and Mark Antony's political and personal history

Historical accounts detail the complex relationships and political maneuvers involving Cleopatra, Mark Antony, and Octavian. Cleopatra and Antony's partnership included the birth of several children, including Alexander Helios and Cleopatra Selene II, whom Antony recognized as his own.

Following political shifts, Octavian moved to secure power against the Roman Republic and Cleopatra's influence. After the death of Antony, Octavian occupied Alexandria and seized the palace, subsequently capturing Cleopatra’s youngest children. The territories were eventually divided among Cleopatra, Caesarion, and Antony’s heirs.
