Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam is facing scrutiny following allegations of “sophisticated tanking” by team insider Tony Grossi. The accusations surfaced after discussions regarding the team's failure to secure veteran quarterback options during the offseason.

Critics, including Front Office Sports editor Ben Axelrod, questioned why the organization did not pursue trades or signings for players such as Gardner Minshew or Justin Fields to address ongoing quarterback uncertainty. While Minshew signed with the Arizona Cardinals, the Browns have struggled to find stability at the position.

Under Haslam's ownership, which began in 2012, the Browns have made two playoff appearances and secured one postseason victory, but have yet to win a divisional or conference title.
