Cleveland Cavaliers reach DirecTV deal for game broadcasts

The Cleveland Cavaliers and DAZN have reportedly reached an agreement with DirecTV to broadcast the team’s games this season. The deal aims to increase game accessibility following fan frustration regarding the team’s previous exclusive broadcasting arrangement.

According to reports, the new distribution through DirecTV began with the team’s home opener against the Brooklyn Nets, with games appearing on channel 660. While a formal announcement is expected soon, the move provides an alternative for viewers who previously relied solely on a DAZN subscription to watch in-market games.

Prior to this arrangement, the Cavaliers were one of five NBA teams with an exclusive deal with the London-based streaming service DAZN, which reportedly pays the team approximately $20 million annually. The addition of DirecTV as a provider addresses concerns regarding the team's accessibility to local fans.
