Cleveland Cavaliers to hold 2026-27 training camp in Spain

The Cleveland Cavaliers have announced they will hold their 2026-27 NBA training camp in Málaga, Spain. The team will stay at The Embassy, a high-performance basketball center in Fuengirola, from September 30 to October 5.

This move marks a departure from the team’s previous two years of training at the IMG Academy in Florida. The decision was influenced by the presence of team advisor and former NBA player José Calderón, who helped develop the Spanish facility. Koby Altman, the Cavaliers' president of basketball operations, stated that the environment is exceptional for building the foundation of a season.

The roster for the camp includes key players such as James Harden, Donovan Mitchell, and Mario Hezonja. Following the overseas training, the team will return to the United States for preseason games, starting with a matchup against the Boston Celtics on October 8.
