Cleveland Guardians evaluate roster moves for upcoming offseason

The Cleveland Guardians are preparing for significant roster decisions following their postseason run. Executive Chris Antonetti has indicated the organization intends to seek upgrades for both the starting rotation and the bullpen during the offseason.

Potential pitching targets range from high-tier free agents to more attainable options in the mid-market tier. While elite options like Tarik Skubal are considered unlikely, the team may monitor players such as Robbie Ray, Casey Mize, and Jack Flaherty as they evaluate contract lengths and projections.

In addition to pitching, the team faces decisions regarding its lineup. Veteran first baseman Nathaniel Lowe, who contributed significantly to the team's AL Central division title and postseason performance, remains a key figure. The organization must weigh re-signing Lowe against the projected development and arrival of top prospect Ralphy Velazquez.
