Cleveland Guardians manage multiple injuries during playoff push
The Cleveland Guardians are managing several key injuries as they attempt to maintain their position in the AL Central race.
On the pitching staff, starter Salde Cecconi is expected to begin a rehab assignment following a period of rest for right arm fatigue. Relief pitcher Colin Holderman, who recently dealt with right wrist inflammation, is currently considered day-to-day after participating in catching drills.
On the offensive side, first baseman and designated hitter Rhys Hoskins has been placed on the 10-day injured list due to lower back inflammation. To fill the void, the Guardians have recalled David Fry from Triple-A Columbus.
